I am Daria and ever since I was a little girl, I have been fascinated by history and the people in it, by stories of individuals, like you and me and incredible worlds they had lived in. So, naturally, I dreamt of becoming a historian. However, at some point, I ran out of books translated into Russian. Keen to learn more, I decided to make languages my priority. Driven by this idea, I had my first Master's in Translation and then moved to Caen (France) in 2011 to pursue my studies of French Culture, History, and History of Art.

Living in Normandy made me realize three very important things. First of all, I could have never become a historian nor translator, I love being around actual living and breathing people too much. Secondly, I found a perfect way to link both of my favorite activities, being a bookworm and meeting new people, by becoming a guide. Thirdly, I found out that the French had discovered the secret of Ambrosia, a special Greek gods' dish of immortality: cheese and wine! 

I have been working as a tour guide since 2016, always keeping on exploring an incredibly beautiful Normandy, its eventful history, and generous cuisine. I truly believe that a foreigner who has learned local ways may serve a traveler as a perfect guide into a new foreign world. It turns out that discovering it is much more enchanting, thrilling, and heartbreaking than a fairy tale, a mystery novel, or a soap opera could ever be, as at every corner there is a story waiting to be heard. We simply need to hold the right key to unlock it. And it's my pleasure to give it to You.
